Turmeric is a spice packed with curcumin, a bioactive nutrient well known for it's anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Our bodies can find it difficult to process curcumin, so we've also added black pepper to ensure we get the full benefits.
Maqui is a dark purple berry which grows wildy in South America. The Mapuche have used the maqui berries, stems and leaves medicinally for millennia. Maqui berries are extremely high in antioxidants.
Feijoas are the classic taste of a Kiwi summer, sweet and fruity. They're low in calories, but are really high in vitamin C. Feijoas also contain a good amount of fibre.
Ginger is a spice that is also known for it's antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties. Used for thousands of years in Asia, these benefits come from the nutrient with ginger called gingerol.
Chia seeds are also originally from South and Central America, used by the Aztecs and Mayans as a good source of sustainable energy. A 28g serve of chia seeds contains 4g protein, 11g fibre and 5g of Omega 3!
Hemp hearts are the nutty inner seeds of a hemp plant. These little powerhouses are high in plant-based protein and omega 3, and also contain essential minerals, such as magnesium, calcium and iron.
Rounding out our South American super ingredients is acai, grown in the Amazon region. Acai contains a lot of healthy fats (like avocado!) and again, is packed full of antioxdiants.
